This year I started listening to and greatly enjoying 'The Surprising Rebirth of Belief in God', a podcast presented by Justin Brierley, which is currently in its second season. The official tag line of the podcast is: “Why new atheism grew old and secular thinkers are considering Christianity again.”
If you have felt that Christianity has been on the wane, or have even noticed some green shoots (like a general renewed interest in Christian thought, and even more visitors to your church) then this podcast (while being more in the English context) provides a very hopeful picture about some of the reasons behind the rebirth and how we can respond well to it. It’s an exciting podcast that dissects our cultures current longings and shows how the secular/atheist narrative has not delivered satisfaction to many. Many guests also explicitly show how Christianity and the Bible is providing many answers to the chaos that some (particular younger people) are experiencing. The host, Justin Brierley also provides a terrific example of how to listen and engage well with those who share different opinions.
