About Us

Vision

ENGAGE Work Faith exists to engage people in their workplaces
in South Australia with the good news of Jesus Christ.

We believe work and faith are connected, overlapping circles that help integrate people.

We engage Christians in the workplace to be sensitive communicators of the good news of Jesus,
fostering regular, humble and mission focused prayer with training in culturally relevant evangelism.

We engage the wider community exposing them to real Christian faith at close range through
their work colleagues and creatively engaging them in the public space with the faith.

We engage churches across our city by forging genuine and vibrant partnerships
so that together we might contribute to the transformation of our city.

We do this by

1) Creating empowered and confident workplace Christians.
2) Mobilising Christians to pray for their work and colleagues.
3) Providing training and research that empowers and emboldens Christians to effectively share their faith.
4)
Creating public space events and resources that directly engage the felt needs, interests of all workers, as well as the perceived barriers to Christian faith.
5) Establishing new Christians in the faith basics and connecting them to established, vital Christian communities.

Our statement of Faith

Statement of Faith

We believe:
1) In the divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scripture as originally given and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
2) In the unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead.
3)
In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His shed blood for the remission of sins, in His resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory.
4) In the universal sinfulness and guilt of humanity as described in the Fall, rendering people subject to God’s wrath and judgement in the absence of divine intervention.
5) Salvation is found only through the Lord Jesus Christ and requires individuals to acknowledge their sin, accept His forgiveness and repent.
6) In the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
7) That the Lord Jesus Christ established the church to carry out his ministry on earth.
8) In the spiritual unity of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Statement on Work

We believe:
1) Work is broader than what one is remunerated—it’s all a gift from God that give humans dignity in his world to care for it and serve each other in love and bring glory to God.
2) Yet work has also been tainted by the Fall, so has become a toil.
3) Ministry in the workplace is critical to support Christians in what they do for the majority of their week, because the workplace is also a public square--many people don’t go to church but they do go to work.
