In the biblical book Genesis we read that God entrusted mankind with stewardship over the creation we know as earth. However the issue of climate change has become a political and social friction point, as humanity tries to find the means to redress the damage that has and continues to occur. Max Jeganathan reminds us of a theological approach that teaches, "a call to stewardship of the environment; a call to protect jobs and people in the short-term; and a call to submit to God's sovereignty in the long-term". The fulfilment of these is dependent upon, "a gracious heart posture towards others in the debate; embracing the responsibility to do what we can; and anchoring ultimate hope in God".
"In this talk, Max Jeganathan examines how Christian theology speaks into the climate crisis, offering a framework that integrates environmental responsibility with moral and spiritual insight. Drawing on biblical principles and global challenges, he outlines how faith, ethics, and human agency intersect in efforts to care for creation."
