There is an observable trend towards prayerlessness among even the most enthusiastic Christians in Western culture not shared by our earlier century counterparts. Why this uncomfortable shift?

Have we overdosed on human responsibility, resulting in a weaker view of our constant dependence on God’s sustaining power?

Have our prayers focused on intercession to the neglect of praise, thanks, worship, confession, lament, and trust? Have we reduced our emotional engagement in praying?
